Enoch Terry Carson (1822-1899) was a prolific book collector, whose Shakesperiana collection was donated to the University of Cincinnati by William Proctor. A public servant who held both local and state offices, Carson was surveyor of the Port of Cincinnati under Lincoln. He was also a Mason, and became Grand Commander of the Knight Templar of Ohio in 1871.
